January Up-Date

As Jimmy Buffett says, "Weather is here, Wish you were beautiful." The weather has been amazing, considering it is January and we are in the middle of winter. We have had some 85 degree days last week and now it's sprinkling. Things are going well here.

Beau was suppose to have his 6 month check up for his Valley Fever, but I wasn't able to take him. I will soon. He is running out of meds. He looks good and isn't having an issues right now. His cheek bump is returning, so he will be on some anti-inflamitory meds to get that gone.

Schein'nnee is great. She got a hair cut yesterday. She was able to sit through the entire body so there is no piecemeal with her hair cut. She's prancing around like a princess. She thinks she's sexy. I will try to post some pictures in the next week of this hair cut.

Roary is lazy as ever. She has to be in the same room as I am in. I think she is tired of having company and wants to make sure that I am her person. She got a bath yesterday. She hates to get wet. She did good. Didn't try to jump out of the tub or shake off the water. And now she smells good!

I am doing good. I had to move classrooms at school. We are getting a new teacher and that teacher gets my room. I moved back to the room I was in before. The challenge is to fit 13 sixth graders in the room at a time. The room is roughly a 10 feet x 10 feet room. So it's small. The old room was about 20 feet x 20 feet. January has been very busy. Outside of moving rooms, a lot of my students's IEPs are due. I am typically on top of the paperwork, but this year in general has been bad. I am not prepared for meetings at all. Oh, well. Legally, an IEP is suppose to be developed at the meeting with the team. Most special education teachers bring in a proposed IEP and then tweek it at the meeting. It makes the meetings go faster.

My Goals for the year are doing okay. This is my january up-date without pictures. I need to figure out my camara cord. I can't seem to find it. I haven't looked at scholarships yet. It is on my list for today. I am keeping up with my cleaning plan except I end up doing the jobs all on Saturday.

Well, that's about all that is happening now. I will hopefully post some pictures this week.

Well, its the new year. The dogs are laying around the house. Just chillin'. Roary has decided to be a Kling-On and follows me everywhere. Beau is hanging out in the sun, taking a nap. And Schein'nnee, she's sleeping on the bed. This is the only time that she gets the bed to herself. I know that she enjoys it.

The New Year always brings promises of change and delights. I am not impressed with making resolutions and trying to keep them for the year. I do not have the stick-to-it-ness that the idea requires. I am good for about a month, but then who really can keep up with the "I will do this or that". I think its better to say that there are things you want to do and then make plans to do that with the understanding that sometimes life throws you a few monkey wrenches. On this note, I think that I want to plan for three college classes, keeping my house clean, and blogging monthly. That sounds pretty good.

My plan for the college classes with include finding and applying for grants and scholarships. Then taking the classes. I think I can do the classes in the summer so that will be for time.

My plan for keeping my house clean will continue what I have been doing. My plan from the past is to have each day of the week assigned to a room. Then I have to do the chore on that day, otherwise I spend the weekend doing it. I also have tried picking up after myself. This plan seems to be working. So I will continue with the next step being to do the chore as soon as I get home or before I get to watch my shows. When I come home, I turn the TV on. So if i turn the radio on instead, maybe that will deter me from becoming a couch potato.

My plan for blogging will be monthly. I want to keep myself up-to-date on my life. I sometimes become forgetful. This way I can remind myself what is going on and then use the posts to help with my Christmas Letter at the end of the year. I will also try to put up new pictures of the dogs and myself. The dogs don't change much, but I may be.

Well that's it for now. Signing off from the land of Booger Butts, Baby Girls, and Honey Monsters!
